OVER 10,000 FANS ROCK FOSOS AT WINTER MOODS CONCERT

It was a night to remember as a 10,000 strong crowd sang out their hearts to Winter Moods’ music on Friday 30th July at The Granaries in Floriana. The band confirmed that it is Malta’s most-loved band as it performed to an even bigger audience than that of its 2008 mega-concert at the Valletta Waterfront.

“The crowd, the magic and the vibe surpassed even our expectations” said Winter Moods frontman Ivan Grech. “It was emotional going up on stage and seeing thousands of people who came to the Fosos just for us. We were singing together from the very first song, the audience’s response to our songs made it magical, surely the best night of our lives.”

Winter Moods opened the concert with Sun Won’t Shine, the first song from the new album Argento and entertained the audience with the biggest hits from the five albums it released during its 25 year career.

During Sarah, the band’s very first hit song from1995 Winter Moods were joined on stage by 10-year old Bradley Duca on guitar.

The Animae Gospel Choir accompanied Winter Moods on Everyday Song and Feels Like Home.

Half way through the concert the band disappeared from the stage, only to appear in the middle of the audience to perform an acoustic version of some of its hits. As the band members left this stage, Ivan stayed on to perform a heart-felt interpretation of The Tramps’ Xemx.

The second part of the concert opened with Last To Know. Winter Moods paid tribute to Jon Lukas Woodenman when they performed a snippet of his 70s UK hit I Can’t Afford To Lose, which was followed by a video message by Lukas himself.

The night reached a climax with the last three songs, which the crowd had been expecting all night – My Neverland, Hang On To Your Smile and Marigold.

The concert was organised by NnG Promotions and supported by Vodafone Malta and Banif Bank. Supporting act Cruz opened the concert after winning a nation-wide call for musicians promoted by 89.7 Bay, NNG Promotions and Winter Moods.
