I want to receive communication directly from Winter Moods partners

Winter Moods has been selected by top German radio station WDR 2, to represent Malta in Europe XXL, a project which will feature a rock band from each of the ten countries which will be joining the EU on May 1 st . WDR 2 is a German public radio station, which transmits in Germany , Belgium , the Netherlands and Luxembourg and reaches more than 2.5 million listeners daily.

During the past days a reporter from WDR 2, visited Malta and met up with Winter Moods to conduct interviews with the band, andyo visit the locations where the members of Winter Moods live and perform. During his stay the reporter also attended a Winter Moods performance at Henry J. Bean’s in St Julians and recorded a greeting by the massive crowd in attendance which will be included in the radio feature.

‘We were searching for bands that are well established within their own countries, whose music also fits our demanding playlist. So it was no real surprise that we chose Winter Moods to represent Malta – they are great!’ said Andreas Zimmer, Station Manager at WDR 2.

Europe XXL will be aired on WDR 2 in the lead up to May 1 st , and on the day a competition will be held between the ten bands from the accessing countries whereby listeners will vote for their favourite band. The three most voted bands will be invited to perform at a special concert which will be held in Germany in June. The Maltese public will be able to vote for Winter Moods via the Internet. Further details will be announced at a later date.

‘It is always an honour to represent Malta abroad and we are very pleased to be selected for this project,’ said Ivan Grech, frontman of Winter Moods. ‘This past year has been very rewarding for us, and we are delighted that during last week Butterfly House has once again shot to the top of the charts. We would like to say a big thank you to all our friends and fans for their constant support.’

Winter Moods are supported by Vodafone Malta , Peugeot, Air Malta , Hamilton Travel, The Alley, Jamesons and Onvol.
